Science tells us that our emotions and our GI systems are intricately connected. In other words, it’s not just what we eat that affects us. Our frame of mind before, during, and after dinner also influences our health in positive or negative ways.
That’s why our family eats dinner on Happy Plates.
A few years ago, Nevin gave me a set colorful Fiestaware dishes. Since then I have added to my set with more hues from Facebook Marketplace buys. And whenever I see that bright and crazy blend of mismatched color on my table, I just feel happy, sort of like I imagine God must feel at His wildly varied communion table.
So Wade sets the table with Happy Plates and we eat together as a family, sometimes with a variety of added friends, and we try to stay off the conversations that might undo the benefits of the plates.
What kind of happy is at your table?
